Draft Gore Luncheon and Rally Planning

NY Draft Al Gore will hold a luncheon on Saturday, September 29, at Sharz Restaurant, 435 E. 86th St., starting at 1:00 PM. The luncheon will give us a chance to enjoy a fine meal together, also to plan two Draft Gore rallies in October. As you probably know, Gore has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, which will be announced on October 12. Plans are underway for a concert and rally in Des Moines, Iowa on October 21 and a similar event in NYC on an October date to be determined. We are also going to discuss a possible initiative to place Gore on the New York state Democratic primary ballot. Our luncheon will be attended by NY Democratic State Committeeman Bob Ginsberg; he hopes you will attend the luncheon as well. Sharz Restaurant has been described by the NY Times as "top-notch" with a "glorious by-the-glass wine list." The Sharz owner, Stuart Taub, is an avid Gore supporter and is offering us a three-course lunch, including soft drinks, for $15 per person. (Wine is extra.) Space is limited (22 persons).
